Good-bye to tangled cables: The smart Wireless Charger II from VARTA makes wireless smartphone charging easier than ever before

VARTA Consumer’s new Wireless Charger II is a central charging station with Qi-technology that charges mobile devices at home and in the office.

Charging your phone as intuitive as laying your keys on the counter

Wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t even notice when you charge up your mobile devices like smartphones, smart watches and tablets? What if the wireless charging station has a fixed location in your house, just like the key holder? Searching for the next power socket, untangling your cables and finding the charging cable with the right adapter – all of that is a thing of the past with the new Wireless Charger II.

The usage of the charger is completely intuitive thanks to its "drop & charge" concept: simply lay the mobile device on the charging station – charge it up – and you’re done! Featuring power output of 5 W, the 73 g bundle of energy from VARTA with Qi-technology can fully charge smartphone batteries in about three hours.1 The premium device is supplied with a 50 cm USB charging cable, which can fit practically any standard power unit. The Wireless Charger II is capable of charging any Qi-compatible device, such as smartphones and tablets.

Practical, smart and simple to use!

Besides the outstanding technical features of the Wireless Charger II, it also offers an elegant and modern design that can be combined with any style of interior design. The flat, round charging station is made of a high-quality aluminum housing with carbon-style glass elements. A blue LED ring serves as a charging indication display, but also provides another visual highlight. Anti-slip rubber feet on the bottom of the Wireless Charger II ensure stability and prevent the station from slipping on any surface – from the glass table in the office to the wooden coffee table at home.

The magic behind wireless charging

Over 1,300 products, including 80 smartphones, use the most prominent global standard for wireless charging, the Qi-technology, developed by the global Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). According to the latest estimates, the number of devices with integrated wireless charging functions is set to quadruple by 2020.2

But how does wireless charging work exactly? The Wireless Charger II and the mobile device both contain an electric coil for induction-based charging. When both coils are close enough to each other, power is transferred via a magnetic field and the device’s battery will start charging. The only condition is that both devices feature the same standard of wireless charging technology. Before you use the Wireless Charger II, all you need to do is check whether your device is directly compatible thanks to integrated Qi-technology3 or whether you require additional accessories such as a Qi-case4 or a Qi-receiver5.
