VARTA Consumer made a good showing at the POPAI DACH Awards 2014 at the EuroShop trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany. The top-selling counter display in the shape of battery won gold in the category travel, leisure and automotive.
The non-profit organization Point of Purchase Advertising International (POPAI), established in 1936, is dedicated to the interests of industry, retail, POS manufacturers and service providers and has been handing out its POS Awards for over 50 years. The prestigious design award is regarded as the most sought-after prize in the POS industry. The POPAI Award jury is made up of independent experts from the branded-goods industry, retail and academics. On the basis of a scale, they judged not only the optical and technical aspects of displays, but also their communicative impact and, most importantly, target achievement.
This year, Klaus Albus of Galeria Kaufhof GmbH, Dr. Erika Graf of the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt/Main and Dr. Gerd Wolfram of Metro AG were among those who awarded gold to VARTA’s green counter display in the shape of a battery.
Sustainable, appealing and original
VARTA wins award with counter display in the shape of a battery: The jury praised the “product-related design and the original and appealing presentation” and highlighted its “high product recognition value combined with easy handling.”
The display’s sustainable production as well as its stable construction with a height of 60 cm was the main focus. It is manufactured by Lichtenau Display KG, a company based in the German state of Saxony.
